The moment

Don’t compare yourself to someone else.

Don’t compare your job to someone else’s job.

Don’t compare your romantic relationship with someone else’s romantic relationship.

Don’t compare the relationship with your family to someone else’s relationship with their family.

Don’t compare your choices to someone else’s choices.

Don’t compare your interests with someone else’s interests.

Don’t compare your behaviour with someone else’s behaviour.

Don’t compare your body with someone else’s body.

Don’t compare your life to someone else’s life.

Compare yourself to who you were last year.

Compare yourself to who you were last month.

Compare yourself to who you were last week.

Compare yourself to who you were yesterday.

Compare yourself to who you were an hour ago.

Compare yourself to who you were five minutes ago.

Really compare though.

Don’t make a quick fix of a ranking of who’s better than who.

Don’t place any of your past versions higher or lower than your current self.

Don’t judge any of the different persons you’ve been from any point of view whatsoever.

Go deeper.

Break down every single version of you that you can remember into the tiniest possible pieces:

What you did; what you said; what you thought; what you felt; why you did it; why you said it; why you thought it; why you felt it; how you did it; how you said it, how you thought it; how you felt it; where you went; what you saw; what you heard;

Define every single tiny piece.

Place those pieces all together in a group.

I bet the number of pieces in that group is much higher than the number of people you know.

That you think you know.

Name that group with your name.

That group is you.

Everything about you is there.

But you aren’t.

You’re here.

And now,

You’re here.

It’s all gone:

Everything you did; everything you said; everything you saw; why and how.

But you aren’t.

You’re here.

And you’re not the same as you were then.

You’re still here.

So be here.

Take control of your experience because you’re the only one who can ever feel it the way it really is. No matter how hard you try to paint it for someone else to see.

Start experiencing your life.

Like a child that sees the world without caring about how the world sees him.

Enter the cage of your perceptions.

Lock the cage.

Forget about the key.

Face your thoughts, feelings, fears and desires.

Don’t judge yourself through them.

Recognise them.

Make friends with them.

You’re still here.

You’re full of so much.

You’re full of so much more than the shallow projection you’re so desperately trying to show someone else.

You’re here.

With all of that.

So stay here.

While you go where you want to go.

While you go where you have to go.

While you do what you want to do.

While you do what you have to do.

Stay here.

In the moment.

Because the moment will pass.

It will pass so quickly that you won’t see it.

The moment is much faster than the light.

And you can only see what the light allows you to see.

What a shame it is.

What a shame it is for all those moments passed being outside of our perceptions.

Lost in a time-travelling tale we’re telling ourselves with the voice of our mood.

Don’t be dragged away.

You can’t be dragged away.

‘Cause you’re here.

So stay here.

And be here.

Because the moment will pass.

And you won’t.

If you stay here.

In the moment.

The moment is the photograph of time that we can never print.

Don’t strike a pose.

Nobody will see that moment.

It can only be experienced.

By you and yourself only.

So be here.
